Fenerbahce youngster reveals Hull City ambition as he awaits first team chance

The highly-rated winger was likened to Arda Güler having come through the academy at Fenerbahce

Bora Aydınlık has arrived in England determined to prove to himself and Hull City that he can cope with the demands of Championship football.

The 19-year-old arrived at City in the closing stages of the summer transfer window on a season long loan deal from Turkish giants Fenerbahce and was part of the Tigers’ travelling squad for their terrific 1-0 win at Leicester City on September 2, but has yet to make an appearance for the first team, though he has trained at Cottingham with the senior players in a bid to get him up to speed.

Head coach Liam Rosenior is keen to tread carefully with the talented winger who featured for Fenerbahce in pre-season, but the Miami Beach-born teenager has his sights set firmly on breaking into the squad and cutting his teeth at Championship level in the near future.

“For me, I can say I am a talented player when I’m on the ball,” Aydınlık told Hull Live. “I’m not saying I am the best but I’m a talented player. I like to dribble, I like to go one-v-one, take players on, cross, shoot and be on the scoresheet. Like, in Zenit (pre-season game for Fenerbahce during the summer) when I came off the bench, I can change the game, I think, tempo-wise and get defenders back-peddling, I think I can change the game on the field.

“I know every player thinks the same way, but I’m just waiting for my chance to show that I can. I’m pretty confident in myself, and I’ll always be confident in myself. Me coming here is a challenge that I’m putting on myself, that I can play in the Championship.

“We have a really good squad, a really good manager. Club-wise, everybody is helping and wants to see us succeed this year I think we’ll be a really good title contender for promotion to the Premier League.

“Every opportunity counts, every one is priceless and doesn’t come every day. You have to work for them for your life, if they come and you cherish them, you become a star, if not, you just go away. I know the club trusts me, I trust the club, so I know many more opportunities will come as long as I’m ready for the challenge.”
