Nottingham Forest wanted to sign Sheraldo Becker

Steve Cooper’s side were interested in signing the forward back in January last season, but no deal was agreed with the Germa side.

German outlet Bild confirmed that the 28-year-old was available for £13 million, but the Reds never met Union’s valuation for their star man.

Becker would’ve added pace and directness into the Forest forward line.

The striker clocked a speed of 22.72 mph, the third-fastest speed ever clocked by a player in Bundesliga history.

The opportunity to sign Becker has certainly passed

After the arrival of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga in wide areas, the opportunity to bring Becker to the City Ground has undoubtedly passed.

Hudson-Odoi and Elanga are 22 and 21 respectively with the pair seen as instant impact players but also ones for the future.

They’ll be given play time in order to progress and develop further, with the arrival of someone like Becker hindering their progression after solid starts to the campaign.
