‘Really harsh lesson’: Forest talent’s loan club equal unwanted Football League record
Nottingham Forest talent Oliver Hammond came on for 24 minutes last night as Cheltenham Town continued their rotten run. After 11 League One games this season, the Robins are yet to score a single goal.
Cheltenham have one point from their games so far this season. That came during a 0-0 draw with Portsmouth and they have now lost seven games in succession.
Hammond joined Cheltenham in the summer on a season-long loan from Forest. He’s made seven appearances in total and recently returned following an injury that kept him out for four matches.
Forest talent Hammond comes on for Cheltenham as run goes on
This current run makes Cheltenham one of the worst teams ever in the EFL. If Darrell Clarke’s team don’t score against Derby on Saturday they will create the record for the longest run without scoring.
The new boss has claimed that his players need support. He told BBC Sport: “The changing room is very, very low. They’re going to get all of my support to try and turn them into men and into footballers. For a lot of them, this is going to be a really harsh lesson.”
