Academy update | Cup heartbreak for Town youngsters
The Town Under-18s bowed out of the Youth Alliance Cup at the second round stage at the weekend after going down 4-3 against Cambridge United.
In a closely fought tie, Tate Xavier-Jones, Jack Lorentzen-Jones and Charlie Emery were on target for Alex Lawless’ side.
There was also cup heartache for the Town Under-16s. Craig Alcock’s squad travelled down to the south coast on Saturday morning as they took on AFC Bournemouth in a knockout qualifier for the Premier League National Tournament.
The game went to penalties after it had finished 2-2 after extra-time but the Cherries were the ones who progressed, winning the shootout 4-3.
Both the Hatters’ Under-18s and Under-16s travel to Sutton United this coming weekend, both matches kicking off a 10.30am.

The Hatters’ Carabao Cup third round tie away to Exeter City will be played on Tuesday 26th September with a 7.45pm kick-off.
Town supporters will have the option to stand or sit on our first visit to St James Park since a 4-1 win in League Two on a Tuesday night in October 2017.
We have received an initial allocation of 769 tickets (369 Seats and 400 Terrace) for our fixture away to Exeter City on Tuesday 26th September.
Away Season Tickets will not be actioned for this fixture but can book in the Season Card holder booking stage.

All Season Card holders will be able to purchase 2 tickets per person online as of 3pm on Monday 11th September, as of Tuesday 12th September these will also be available over the phone and in person.
All Hatters 23/24 Members
Hatters Members will be able to purchase 2 tickets per person as of Wednesday 13th September online. On Thursday 14th September these will also be able to be purchased over the phone and in person.
General Sale
Any remaining tickets will be available on Friday 15th September, online, over the phone and in person.
