‘I’ve had words’: 22-year-old Everton player claims his teammates aren’t inviting him to social events
James Garner has suggested that he doesn’t have much of a relationship with his Everton teammates outside of football.

Born on Merseyside, Garner finally made his return when he joined the Toffees in a £15 million deal from Manchester United last summer.
After a turbulent first campaign that was overshadowed by injury, Garner has been one of Everton’s best players this season after starting seven of their eight games in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old netted his first league goal in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth last time out and has quickly become a fan favourite at Goodison Park, though it appears that he keeps his relationships with his teammates on the pitch and in training.
On and off the pitch
When asked whether he plays online games with the other players after football, James Garner replied: “No, not really. Just with my mates from home. They’ve got their own little group and I don’t really get invited to that. I’ve had words. Same with golf, gaming, little coffee meets – everything.”
It’s actually quite sad to hear that Garner doesn’t get invited to social events with his other teammates, however there must be more to it – or the midfielder is just messing around.
The team seem to have really good connections on the pitch at the moment, picking up three wins from four games. Garner is one player that is playing some of the best football he has ever played, so there surely isn’t any issues from his point of view.
Hopefully they all see the YouTube video and next week we get to see numerous Instagram posts of them all playing golf together, followed by a coffee and a game of Call of Duty!
