Journo reveals Chelsea are keeping an eye on their loanee at Nottingham Forest
Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea are assessing Nottingham Forest’s use of Andrey Santos
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are keeping an eye on Andrey Santos’ loan spell at Nottingham Forest, as the midfielder has yet to star in any games for the club.
Santos has been loaned out to Forest for the entire season by Chelsea to ensure the midfielder can accumulate Premier League experience and develop into an experienced player.
However, despite his talent, that hasn’t been the case thus far. The Brazilian midfielder is yet to play for Forest and this could affect his growth. It would defeat the purpose of the Blues loaning him out in the first place.
The Blues are currently keeping tabs on his situation. They’d undoubtedly want to have a conversation with Steve Cooper regarding the same. When the time is right, he could get his chance to display his credentials but what the youngster needs right now is regular game time.
The transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has updated Santos’ current situation and revealed that the Blues are observing him. He further said in The Daily Briefing:
“As I tweeted yesterday, Andrey Santos’ early struggles on loan at Nottingham Forest continued as he once again failed to get any minutes for the club this weekend. Of course Chelsea wants Andrey to play, but he’s adapting to a new city, a new club, and a new manager. It takes some time. October will be crucial to understanding how this situation will evolve, but I can say that Chelsea is obviously monitoring the situation closely.”
Given the high hopes that have been placed in Andrey Santos, it is surprising that he is yet to be given a chance at Nottingham. There are still several months left in the current season and perhaps he will get the chance to demonstrate his talent. However, the Blues might not want to wait around for too long.
