Exeter City injury latest on Admiral Muskwe, Ilmari Niskanen, Cheick Diabate, Ryan Trevitt and Dion Rankine
Grecians injury crisis is finally easing
It is no secret that Exeter City have been crying out for a natural ‘number nine’ in recent matches and after weeks of waiting, they may finally be able to field one with on-loan Luton Town striker Admiral Muskwe ready to be unleashed on League One defences.
The Grecians have scored only two goals in their last seven games as the lack of forward firepower has been all too evident, despite the best efforts of James Scott, teenage Academy graduate Sonny Cox and other players asked to fill the void by playing in an unnatural position.
Much was expected of 25-year-old Muskwe after he joined from the Premier League Hatters and that expectation grew when the Grecians sold Sam Nombe to Rotherham United in a £1 million-plus deal at the end of August. But since arriving in Devon, Muskwe has suffered two niggling injuries which has limited him to just two substitute appearances – and 23 minutes of action – for Gary Caldwell’s side.
