AFLW R9 team: Skilled trio gets a chance to play the Crows

AFLW R9 squad: Experienced trio a chance to face Crows

The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have named their extended squad for Sunday’s trip to face second-placed Adelaide at Norwood Oval.

Experienced trio Liz McGrath, Ellie Gavalas and Lucy Burke have been added to the side which faced the Demons at Ikon Park on Saturday night.

The Kangaroos will be aiming to bounce back from that result and record what would be a confidence-boosting win against another finals-bound team.

Veteran forward Gavalas is the only one of the three additions to have featured for the Roos so far this season. Now in her fifth season with the club, she played the opening six matches before being omitted after the win over Fremantle.

Pre-season recruit Burke can play at both ends of the ground and may be looked at to bolster the Roos’ defence, while ruck McGrath potentially offers another tall option around the ground.
