“We need to keep going”- Iheanacho urges Leicester City teammates on after reaching Championship summit
Leicester City have been brilliant since the beginning of the season, and they look very good at the moment
Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has urged his Leicester City teammates to keep their focus and continue winning games in the English Championship, Soccernet reports.
However, under the tutelage of coach Enzo Maresca, the team has been impressive. They have won eight of their first nine Championship games, and after their 4-1 bashing of Blackburn Rovers Sunday, they climbed to the top of the league.
Iheanacho has had a good season so far, registering two goals and one assist in nine appearances for the Foxes. He also scored a penalty in their victory over Leicester City.
Speaking after their victory on Sunday, the Super Eagles forward has urged his teammates to keep winning games.
“It’s a great view, everyone is happy, we are on top now, but it’s a tough league,” Iheanacho told LCFC.
“We need to keep going because there are a lot of games. We have a big squad, so we need to manage ourselves and keep winning- even though it won’t be easy, obviously.
“But we just keep learning every day and keep winning game by game, and hopefully, at the end of the season, we will see where we are.
Iheanacho has not gotten a lot of game time this season, nonetheless, he would hope that changes soon.
