Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Cresswell likely left at home again for Leeds United v Stoke
Leeds United travel to the Bet365 Stadium on Wednesday 25 October to take on Stoke City in their latest Championship fixture on the calendar.
The Whites will be looking to continue their red-hot form after the incredible 3-2 victory against Norwich last time, thanks to Crysencio Summerville.
Daniel Farke admitted at Thorp Arch this week that rotation won’t be too much of an issue for this game, which is bad news for Charlie Cresswell and Joe Gelhardt, in particular.
Both Cresswell and Gelhardt were left out of the team and the travelling squad to Carrow Road over the weekend, and the same may happen this evening.
Farke did, however, admit that rotation could be more of an issue for the Yorkshire derby with Huddersfield on Saturday 28 October, so that may be their chance.
Despite losing so many players over the summer, Leeds managed to come out of the window with a strengthened final third and options in the heart of defence.
Joel Piroe and Joe Rodon have come in to offer Farke serious options, meaning that Gelhardt and Cresswell have seen their own chances of regular football harmed.
It will be interesting to see whether or not they are happy with that though, with more young players crying out for first-team football nowadays, something which could see them push to leave.
With Farke admitting rotation isn’t something he takes lightly, it looks as though the squad and maybe even the starting XI could be exactly the same at Stoke.
That means Gelhardt and Cresswell could be made to watch from home yet again, something which could see their futures change drastically and quite soon.
Time will tell.
