Patson Daka called into action as Wilf Ndidi absence worries with yellow card stats saying Leicester are not obvious
Patson Daka has been a memober of the squad on different occassions and yesterday it was also time to enter the field for a few minutes of Championship football. Danny Ward was on the bench alongside Jacub Stolarczyk as Enzo Maresca again named two goalkeepers on the subs bench,
Wilfred Ndidi missed the game with a muscle drain. We are just 13 league games into the season as injuries and suspensions soon will stretch this squad to their limits and of course this will stress Enzo Maresca in his hunt for points going forward.
The fact that both Marc Albrighton and Patson Daka got minutes yesterday as well as seeing the return of Marcal Madivadua on the bench shows a clear indication that all legs will be needed into the next transfer window.
AFCON could see Patson Daka (Zambia), Kelechi Iheanacho (Nigeria), Abdul Fatawu (Ghana) and Wilfred Ndidi (Nigeria) all land a place in the competition, and hopefully players being injured at present will back ready for action at this time.
Tom Cannon, Dennis Praet, Callum Doyle and Kasey McAteer are all out for a longer period of time, hopefully Wilfred Nididi will be able to return shortly and not be absent for too long.
The fact that players are also starting to add up a fair number of yellow cards, makes it obvious that we soon will see players absent as they will get suspensions. Yesterday in a game at home, Leicester were given four yellow cards and so far Jannik Vestergaard has served one suspension.
Leicester have so far picked up 34 yellow cards, only Southampton and Stoke with 35 and in front. To pick up almost 3 yellow cards in every game, shows that the use of fauls are in the wrong end of the table, as it will soon be seen in numbers of players to be lost to suspension. Harry Winks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could soon both be out with suspension, both on 4 cards.
The list is the following:
Yellow Cards:
Jannik Vestergaard 7, Harry Winks 4, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall 4, Mads Hermansen 1, Ricardo Pereira 3, Stephy Mavididi 3, Wout Faes 2, Callum Doyle 1, Kelechi Iheanacho 1, Abdul Fatawu 3, James Justin 2, Yanus Akgun 1, Kasey McAteer 1, Jamie Vardy 1
This situation could stretch every inch of the squad and of course having quality players such as Marc Albrighton and Patson Daka to call on in this situation could be a high value as we surely have seen a team in several of the game not having been too convincing, despite that winning result.
