Analyst Details Major Change For The Packers
Thanks in part to an impressive performance from their offense, the Green Bay Packers were able to pull off an upset on Thanksgiving in a road matchup against the Detroit Lions.
The 29 points scored by the Packers last week were the most they’ve had in a game this season since they defeated the Chicago Bears, 38-20, in Week 1.
Is this type of offensive performance something that should be expected from Green Bay for the remainder of the 2023 campaign?
Well, according to Fox Sports’ Carmen Vitali, the Packers offense now “looks like it’s supposed to,” meaning the team has been able to use most of their playbook recently as quarterback Jordan Love has gotten more and more comfortable running the offense (via NFL on FOX Podcast on Twitter).
The recent progression of the team’s offense has allowed Green Bay to quietly creep back into the NFC playoff picture.
A 24-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8 left the Packers with a 2-5 record, but since then, they’ve won three of their last four games to improve their record to 5-6 heading into Week 13.
Green Bay’s next game will be a big test as they are hosting the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
If the Packers can pull out a win against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, then any hopes Green Bay has of making the playoffs this season will become much more legitimate.
If the Packers win on Sunday, they will overtake the Seattle Seahawks and move into the seventh and final slot in the current NFC playoff picture.
