Aston Villa is about to sign a contract with an outstanding center-back
For Unai Emery and Aston Villa in the 2023–24 Premier League season, things are going well so far.
The manner they finally defeated a tenacious Crystal Palace team at the weekend indicates that they’re going to be tough to beat this season. The Spaniard has watched his team bounce back from a crushing defeat at the hands of Newcastle on the first day of the season.
Emery wants to play with a combination of a strong defense and an attack that is ready to attack at any given moment.
Emery has developed a high-energy working style throughout the course of his career, and Villa now seem to be the appreciative clients of his expertise.
The Villains have a lot to offer potential recruits, including this season’s availability of European football.
Not to mention that the players who put them in this situation deserve to be recognized for their efforts.
A player who might be poised to sign a new contract is the excellent center back Ezri Konsa.
Journalist Tom Collomosse of the Daily Mail claims that the player’s ongoing development under Emery has put him in position for a new deal.
Collomosse even goes so far as to imply in his tweet that a call-up to the England national team isn’t far off either, which, should it occur, would put the player squarely in the running for a spot in Gareth Southgate’s European championship team.
