The 22-year-old missed the first few weeks of the season and preseason after breaking a metatarsal while playing for England Under-21s earlier this summer. The youthful sensation will seek to have better appearances going forward after coming off the bench in Villa’s shocking 3-2 loss to Legia Warszawa on Thursday (21 September).

Ramsey is now recognized as a standout member of Villa’s growing academy thanks to his six goals and seven assists in the Premier League last season. He became an important member of the team after decisive goal contributions against Newcastle and Manchester United and a pair of assists that secured Europe against Brighton on the final day of the season.

Tracey is not at all unaware of Ramsey’s effect. Ramsey must have found it “horrible” to watch Villa’s success this season without having an impact, he speculates, and the club has “really missed” having the Englishman. Bracey, who believes in the young player, predicts that if he returns to action, he will contribute double-digit goals this season.

“There’s a lot of competition in those positions, but he’ll be hungry to get back into the starting 11,” Bracey revealed exclusively to Villa News. It must have been awful to see your team succeed when you [usually] start games without you, especially as a favorite of the fans.

Having him back is huge. He is an excellent ball carrier and has a lot of potential for both goals and assists. We have definitely missed having him.

“We have missed him, despite the fact that we played some excellent football without him. I’m anxiously awaiting his return. I’m not sure when he’ll return, but hopefully soon.

“I’m over the moon that he’s back in training,” said the fan who predicted that he will contribute at least 10 goals this season.
