49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw ejected after incident with Eagles security

Greenlaw recorded a team-high seven tackles prior to being ejected.

Sunday’s rematch of the 2022 NFC Championship Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers has had no shortage of fireworks.

Star players from both sides have found the end zone or made other big plays.

Things even have gotten a bit chippy, leading to an ejection and a lot of pushing and shoving.

Early in the third quarter, 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw tackled Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith out of bounds resulting in a 15-yard penalty.

Greenlaw was subsequently ejected from the game after getting into a scuffle with Eagles Director of Security Dom DiSandro. He had a team-high seven tackles upon being ejected.

Greenlaw reached out towards DiSandro with a closed fist, leading to the ejection and sending Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan into a rage on the other sideline. DiSandro was also ejected from the game to a rousing ovation from the Philadelphia crowd.

DiSandro has been with the Eagles since 1999 and currently serves as Philadelphia’s Chief Security Officer according to his biography on the Eagles’ website. His job is to “oversee all safety and security matters for players, coaches, and executives.” He also “directs security at the team’s training complex, is responsible for security measures related to team travel and logistics, and provides education on the NFL’s personal conduct policy.”
