BBC pundit criticizes spectacular ace following Rodri incident as “embarrassing”

After the Rodri incident, a BBC commentator calls Morgan Gibbs-White “embarrassing.”

BBC commentator Ian Dennis has slammed Morgan Gibbs-White after his involvement in the incident with Rodri which saw the midfielder sent off.

The pair battled in the corner flag before they squared off with the City man raising his hands, pushing Gibbs-White in the throat.

The red card means that the Spaniard will miss the next three games against Arsenal, Newcastle and Wolves.

Dennis slammed Gibbs-White on air about his actions and theatrical reaction to the contact.

The BBC commentator criticized the Forest man for his role in the event while doing commentary responsibilities.

“The way that Gibbs-White has reacted is way over the top. That really was quite embarrassing for Gibbs-White.

“He goes to touch him on the neck, Gibbs-White at that point dives straight down.

“The reaction was incredible, no need for that.”

The criticism directed towards the Forest man is certainly uncalled for, as Rodri raised his hands to the face/neck of the midfielder.

It certainly may be seen as a harsh dismissal, but in football today, you simply can’t do what Rodri did, with a red card the only option for referee Anthony Taylor.
