Titans provide major DeAndre Hopkins injury update
DeAndre Hopkins is expected to play vs. the Steelers on Thursday night.
As the Tennessee Titans enter their matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football, they received some good news regarding star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Hopkins is expected to play against the Steelers on Thursday despite battling a toe injury. The three-time first-team All-Pro is officially listed as questionable.
Hopkins is coming off his best game as a member of the Titans since signing with Tennessee prior to the 2023 season. In what marked rookie quarterback Will Levis’ first start for the Titans, the five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver caught four passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns in Tennessee’s 28-23 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Following the game, the 31-year-old Hopkins sent a clear message to his detractors.
One, two, three,” Hopkins said, referencing his touchdown total on Sunday. “They wrote me off. I feel like Geno.”
Hopkins’ comment was a reference to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, who said, “They wrote me off, I ain’t write back though” following his team’s season-opening win over the Denver Broncos in 2022.
Through his first seven games with the Titans, the Clemson product has tallied 31 catches for 504 yards and three touchdowns. At 3-4, Tennessee enters Thursday’s matchup against the 4-3 Steelers in third place of the AFC South.
