Seahawks’ Bobby Wagner explains just why Ravens’ Lamar Jackson deserves more respect as a passer
The Seattle Seahawks will be in for a unique test in their upcoming Week 9 road matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The Seahawks have allowed an 85.3 passer rating in seven games played this season, and they will square off with a quarterback in Lamar Jackson who ranks seventh in passer rating with a 101.1 mark.
Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner has been watching film on Jackson in anticipation of Week 9, and he is far from surprised to see him enjoy much success as a passer this season.
“I think where he’s grown the most is just his ability to make the pass,” Wagner said during a press conference ahead of Week 9. “I feel like he’s always been a good passer, but it’s gotten better over the years.
“I think before when he used to kind of escape, he would look to run but he’s looking to pass and he’s dangerous in the run.”
Wagner now hopes that Seattle’s defense will be able to slow down the all-around quarterback in Week 9.
“I think he’s equally as dangerous in the pass and so it’s going to be one of our tougher matchups to be able to contain him and not let him just do whatever he wants,” Wagner s
Wagner also credited Jackson for helping Baltimore boast one of the more efficient red zone offenses this season. The Ravens currently rank third in red zone touchdown percentage with a 67.6 percent mark.
Jackson and the Ravens are looking to move to a 7-2 record for the first time in four years.
