Ohio State Player On Michigan: ‘We’re Gonna Get It Done For The State Of Ohio’
With so many emotions going into The Game between Ohio State and Michigan, it’s usually not a great idea to give either team any bulletin board material, but one Ohio State player may have already done just that.
Denzel Burke, a junior and one of the better players in the Buckeyes’ secondary, all but guaranteed a victory over the Wolverines on Tuesday.
During an interview, Burke told reporters that he didn’t want to get out of character, but Ohio State was going to get the job done.
“I’m very emotional,” Burke said. “I’m trying not to get out of character, but this game means a lot for us, and we’re going to get it done for the state of Ohio.”
“Nothing,” Burke said. “We just got to go out there and do our job, man, and really compete, play hard for each other. And you know, we’re going to be the villain walking in there. And this game is really just about respect for us, especially my class the last two years. We haven’t got it done. No gold pants, so we just got to go out there and just be us.”
Burke did later say there is a level of respect for the Michigan players with the Buckeyes not winning the past two years, but you can almost guarantee his comments are already on the Wolverines’ minds for Saturday.
