Newcastle United step up interest in 18-year-old Chelsea star who was initially heading out on loan to Crystal Palace.
Chelsea midfielder Lewis Hall is closing in on a sensational move to Newcastle United despite earlier reports suggesting he was close to joining Crystal Palace on loan.
The Chelsea Academy Player of the Season played in the last seven games of last season and was one of the shining lights of what was a chaotic first season under new owners at the club. He ended the campaign as the club’s first-choice left back even though he’d been playing in midfield for the junior teams.

Chelsea however keen on keeping him offered a new six-year deal with more money and promised a loan where he would play in the Premier League, something he would ordinarily not get at Stamford Bridge under Pochettino
The player agreed and signed a deal hoping to join Crystal Palace but Chelsea have backtracked and are now looking to sell with Newcastle United reportedly ready to make a deal for a fee in the region of £28million for the 18-year-old.

Eagles fans were hoping the club could secure the signing of the highly-rated Lewis Hall before their Monday night game against Arsenal but as things stand it is Newcastle United who are more likely to sign him as Chelsea look to bring in more money after spending close to £1billion in the last three transfer window.
