Breaking: Ahead of the Raptors’ game against the Detroit Pistons, the 26-year-old forward makes an unexpected return.

Raptors Update OG Anunoby’s Status For Sunday’s Game vs. Pistons

The Toronto Raptors appear to have received good news on OG Anunoby’s injured right index finger. The 26-year-old forward is listed as probable to play Sunday evening against the Detroit Pistons following a three-game absence for a finger laceration that required stitches. Anunoby had been involved in an accident doing household chores, the team said. The Raptors did not practice Saturday but there will likely be team activities Sunday pre-game before Anunoby is officially cleared to play. It’s worth keeping an eye on his shooting stroke as the injury does impact his shooting hand and he had been forced to wear a bandage on the finger during practices earlier in the week.

Toronto also appears to have Otto Porter Jr. back after he missed Friday’s game for personal reasons. With the two expected to play Sunday, the Raptors will have their full rotation healthy. Anunoby will slide back into the starting lineup, likely replacing Gary Trent Jr. who will return to the bench in his sixth-man role. Anunoby will likely start alongside Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl, and Dennis Schröder. Expect to see Porter, Malachi Flynn, Precious Achiuwa, and potentially Chris Boucher in Toronto’s second unit. Jalen McDaniels will likely fall out of the rotation with everyone healthy. Raptors coach Darko Rajaković has said he prefers to play as many as nine rotation players on any given night. Thad Young remains out with an illness for the second straight game. Christian Koloko also remains sidelined with ongoing respiratory issues. The Pistons have yet to announce their injury report for Sunday
