Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks is set to leave the club permanently this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a medical has been scheduled for the 27-year-old midfielder who will join Leicester City for a fee of around £10 million this summer.

Winks was on loan at Italian club Sampdoria last season and he did reasonably well for the Italian outfit. He will look to get his career back on track with regular football at the Championship club now.

It is evident that he does not have a future at Tottenham and it makes sense for the player to sort out his permanent feature and focus on his football now.

Winks could be a top-class addition to the Leicester City midfield in the coming season. Leicester will be hoping to get back into the Premier League immediately and they need quality players in order for that to happen.

Winks has previously proven himself in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino and he will be a key player for the Foxes.

He will add control, composure and creativity in the middle of the park. The Foxes have lost Youri Tielemans this summer and Winks could be a quality alternative.

Signing a player of his ability for £10 million could prove to be a bargain in the coming seasons.

The midfielder is still very much at the peak of his career and he will look to make his mark at the new club. There is no doubt that the 27-year-old could be one of the best players in the Championship next season. It remains to be seen whether he can guide his side to promotion next year.

Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur was recently reported in the Turkish media as having travelled to London for transfer talks.

Timur held talks with Tottenham and Brighton during his trip regarding Victor Nelsson, Nicolo Zaniolo and Sacha Boey.

The Galatasaray chief is said to have asked €60m for Nelsson and Zaniolo, but Tottenham’s offer is believed to be significantly lower.

Nelsson has a €25m release clause while Zaniolo has a €35m release clause.

It is unclear which Tottenham players could be involved in the proposed deal, but the club is reportedly looking to offload some of its fringe players.

Timur is said to be “not pleased” with Tottenham’s offer, but talks are still ongoing.

The Galatasaray vice-president is reportedly keen to sell some of his side’s players during his latest trip to England as they look to balance the books.

The Yellow-Reds want to sell players before making signings this summer.
