Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola delivers update on Kieffer Moore’s future amid Cardiff City links
The Cherries boss was asked about the future of the Welsh striker, who continues to be linked with a return to Cardiff City this summer
Andoni Iraola says he expects Kieffer Moore to stay at Bournemouth – for the time being, at least.
Moore has been heavily linked with a move back to Cardiff City in this window, having spent two years in the Welsh capital before leaving for the Cherries.
He made his first start of the season in the 3-2 Carabao Cup win over swansea-city-fc>Swansea City on Tuesday night, and has seemingly fallen out of favour at the Vitality Stadium.
However, despite withdrawing the 31-year-old at half-time during the win over the Swans, Iraola has suggested the forward is still part of his plans.
“Right now we have three forwards, with the option also of Justin [Kluivert],” he said. “We are happy with Dom [Solanke]. We have different options. You never know what will happen in the last few days of the market, but we are not especially looking forward to his moment.”
Asked specifically if he expected Moore to stay at the club, he added: “Yes. Right now, this is the situation. You can never guarantee anything with any player because sometimes circumstances change from one over to the other. But this right now is the situation.”
Cardiff boss Erol Bulut refused to be drawn specifically on suggestions he might be interested in the towering striker.
Asked whether the Wales international might possibly be on his radar this summer, following Tuesday’s win over Birmingham City, he replied: “Right now I cannot say anything. Wait until Friday and then we will see surprises, I hope!”
