Former Milwaukee Brewers Catcher Signs A Controversial 1 Year Deal (Fan Reactions)
The Milwaukee Brewers had catcher Martin Maldonado on the big league roster from 2011-2016. Following that he bounced around a bit by playing with the Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, and the Chicago Cubs.

Despite having a few different stints with the Astros from 2017-2019, Maldonado was able to consistently call Houston home for each of the past four seasons. At the end of the 2023 season he became a free agent and Houston ended up signing former Brewers catcher Victor Caratini. .
The Astros decision to sign Caratini signaled the end of Maldonado’s time in Houston. Until recently the 37 year old found himself available as a free agent again, but he now has signed a one year deal with the Chicago White Sox.
Maldonado’s decision to sign with the White Sox did stir up some controversy between both fan bases. Here are some reactions from both sides.
