Houston Texans: Analyzing the offense as run game flounders

Insider Suggests Texans Will Be Without Star For Titans Game

The once-promising season could come to an early end for the Houston Texans.

DeMeco Ryans’ team lost more than just a game vs. the New York Jets on Sunday; they also lost their best player.

Superstar rookie QB C.J. Stroud couldn’t finish the game after suffering a concussion.

Unfortunately, he continues to be under the league’s concussion protocol and hasn’t practiced at all this week, which is why Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that backup QB Davis Mills is en route to start a divisional must-win clash vs. the Tennessee Titans.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans of the Houston Texans looks on in the second quarter against the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on October 08, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Of course, the Texans could do a lot worse.

Mills was a two-year starter and showed some glimpses of great play in the early stages of his career, and while he’s definitely not as good as Stroud, he’s proven that he can have a solid game every now and then.

The Titans are no longer in contention for a postseason spot, but they would definitely love to play a spoiler against a divisional rival.

The AFC South is still wide open, and the Texans still have a shot to run away with the divisional pennant, not to mention make the playoffs.

That’s why they cannot afford another setback.

the Texans have been the most surprising team in the entire league this season, mostly thanks to Stroud’s remarkable play.

Now, it’ll be up to the rest of the team to step up and keep the ship afloat while the frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year is trying to work his way back to the field
