The Dallas Cowboys Cut Starter Following Brutal Loss To The Miami Dolphins (Breaking)

The Dallas Cowboys suffered a heart breaking loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.  The loss dropped the Cowboys to 10-5 on the year and their chances to win the division took a hit.  Dallas will end the season playing at home against the Detroit Lions and on the road against the Washington Commanders.

Following their loss, reports have surfaced that Dallas is parting ways with a player who has started 18 games over the last two seasons.

FRISCO, Texas — A day before his release from the Dallas Cowboys, linebacker Rashaan Evans was arrested Tuesday by Frisco police for possession of marijuana.

The Cowboys waived Evans on Wednesday to make room for offensive tackle Matt Waletzko, who was activated off IR after dealing with a shoulder injury suffered in training camp.

Evans played in nine games for the Cowboys and was credited with nine tackles.

The 2018 first-round pick joined the team in October on the practice squad.

In October, Evans was signed to the Cowboys’ practice squad. He played in nine games this year, recording nine tackles as a helper to a team that has lost Leighton Vander Esch to a neck injury and is heavily reliant on young players Damone Clark and Markquese Bell.

Evans only played on special teams in last week’s loss to Miami, despite the team’s need for depth at linebacker.

Evans has started 29 games over the last three seasons.  His loss will be felt on special teams and accounting for depth at an already thin linebacking unit.
