After signing Mount, Manchester United have now made a bid for 27-year-old Chelsea target as well

After signing Mason Mount from Chelsea, Manchester United have now made a bid for Andre Onana – a player Mauricio Pochettino is said to want at Stamford Bridge.

That is according to The Athletic.

So, what is the situation involving Andre Onana? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to Football London – Chelsea are keen to sign the Cameroonian glovesman, and were confident of finding an agreement with Inter Milan.

A story from The Sun added that Pochettino is a huge fan of Onana, and would love to have him in west London.

Now – however – it is Manchester United who have made the first move after securing the £60m signing of Mount.

The Athletic believe the Red Devils have made a £38.6m bid for Onana as Erik ten Hag looks to find a replacement for David de Gea.

Inter Milan’s No.24 is open to the move having worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.

The Athletic add that Inter Milan would like €60m (£51m) for the 27-year-old. However, there is a belief that an agreement can be found somewhere in the middle.

Andre Onana deal could see Chelsea finally sell Romelu Lukaku

While some Chelsea fans may be upset to see Onana move to Old Trafford – should a deal materialise successfully – it could cause an exit for Romelu Lukaku to finally happen.

Inter Milan have so far failed to meet Chelsea’s £34m asking price for the Belgian – as detailed by the Mirror – with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that the Italian giants have only offered £26m.

However – according to a separate story from Gazzetta dello Sport – Inter Milan plan to use the money from Onana’s sale to fund a move for Lukaku.

Therefore, if Manchester United can agree a fee with the Serie A side and get a deal over the line, Chelsea could soon receive a £34m chunk of the cash.
