The latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper will be preparing his squad for the visit of Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend.

Aston Villa are expected to be without at least four players for the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Both teams go into the game at the City Ground on Sunday in contrasting form. While Forest are winless in their last six league games, Villa recorded their seventh Premier League win of the season over the weekend with a 3-1 win over newly-promoted Luton Town.

Ahead of the weekend’s clash, Steve Cooper has a number of injury concerns. Striker Chris Wood was a late absentee against Liverpool thanks to a hamstring injury and won’t be involved against Villa.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Divock Origi are among those on the injury list. In good news for Forest, Taiwo Awoniyi made his comeback from injury as a second-half substitute against Liverpool.

As for Villa, Unai Emery has no known new injury concerns ahead of the game. Emiliano Buendia and Tyrone Mings remain out with long-term knee injuries.

The other two players expected to miss the game at the City Ground are Alex Moreno and Jacob Ramsey. Both players have had a stop-start season so far due to injuries, Ramsey breaking his metatarsal while on international duty with England U21s in the summer.

The 22-year-old did make a comeback last month, scoring in the 6-1 win over Brighton, but has missed the last three Premier League matches. Full-back Alex Moreno has been named on the bench once this season, but has missed the last five league matches with a hamstring injury.

Both could make their comeback before the next international break, but the game against Forest could potentially come too soon for both of them. Ramsey provided an assist against Forest in the 2-0 loss at Villa Park last season.
