Alan Myers details Youssef Chermiti medical update at Everton as news goes quiet

Youssef Chermiti has seemingly passed his medical at Everton, according to Alan Myers.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Monday night (7 August), the Sky Sports journalist reported that he believes everything has gone well while the Sporting CP striker underwent his medical checks at Everton.

Tense wait

Evertonians always get a bit impatient when it gets to the latter stages of a transfer being completed.

It’s probably the case for most clubs but a lot of fans seem to worry about a player failing a medical – something which very rarely happens nowadays.

Not many Everton fans can even claim to have heard of Chermiti a few weeks ago but that doesn’t stop people from trying to find out his every move as he gets closer and closer to pulling on the famous blue jersey.

We’re excited, too.

He’s a young Portuguese striker who should fit in well with what Sean Dyche expects from his main man up front.

The teenager could be a perfect back-up option for Dominic Calvert-Lewin but that does come with a lot of pressure because of the Englishman’s continual injury issues.

Myers is now suggesting that Chermiti’s medical has gone well so we would expect this deal to be officially announced by Everton in the coming hours.

In other Everton news, the Blues have a deal in place to complete a David Moyes “throwback” signing.
