Kean Bryan sends message to Karlan Grant as West Brom loan exit sealed

Former West Brom defender Kean Bryan has sent a message on Instagram to Karlan Grant after the forward joined Cardiff City on loan.

The news of the 25-year-old’s departure on a season-long loan to the Baggies’ Championship rivals was confirmed on 15 July.

Reacting to the transfer on Instagram, Bryan said: “Not many genuine people in ball but this guy is serious. Wish you all the best bro.”

Time to move on

It’s clear to see from Bryan’s message on Instagram that he was good friends with Grant and holds him in high regard as a person.

The way both players’ careers ended at the Hawthorns is disappointing, given that they both probably would’ve hoped to have achieved more during their time at the club.

Bryan simply couldn’t catch a break, having only played three matches during his two-year spell at the club after suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury.

After signing Grant for £15million from Huddersfield Town on a six-year deal, the Baggies would’ve been expecting more of a return from the forward. He scored 18 goals in 44 Championship matches in the 2021/22 campaign before only managing to register five strikes in all competitions last season.

The Baggies have realised it’s time to move on from some of their key figures over the past few seasons as they look to push for a promotion spot in the upcoming campaign.

In other West Brom news, one famous figure took to Twitter to show he was a fan of the club’s kit tribute to Jeff Astle.
