Aston Villa striker transfer ‘close’ after ‘direct approach’

The latest Aston Villa transfer news as the striker looks to be closing in on a permanent move from Villa Park this summer, after spending last season on loan at Watford.

Aston Villa are reportedly close to agreement over a permanent transfer for forward Keinan Davis to move to Hull City.

The 25-year-old is not part of Unai Emery’s plans this season after spending last season on loan with Championship side Watford. Davis was not included in the travelling squad for the pre-season tour of America and has not been in the matchday squad for the first two Premier League games of the campaign.

According to the Athletic , Championship side Hull City are ‘closing in’ on a deal for Davis, with an agreement over a permanent deal ‘close’. It came after Hull made a ‘direct approach’ to Villa for the striker.

It was reported earlier in the day that Hull were showing an interest in a second unnamed Villa player amid negotiations for Jaden Philogene. The youngster is said to be closing in on a move to the Yorkshire club.

It now seems that the second player is Davis, the striker having proven himself in the Championship. Last season saw him score seven times and provide two assists for Watford during a loan spell.
