Blackburn ready to ‘give a go’ at signing Ligue 2 defender – Will need to pay for him

With a lot of the attention abroad focusing on the Premier League, we must not forget that some Championship clubs, such as Blackburn Rovers, are also trying to conclude some late deals.

The Ewood Park residents have had a fairly decent start to the season with two wins, a draw and a loss from their first four games, with six goals scored and five conceded.

That last part could be an area to work on, and that’s what Blackburn are thinking, as they target Saint-Etienne’s Mickaël Nadé, according to Nabil Djellit.

The journalist doesn’t give us a lot of information regarding the attempt, but he does make it very clear that Blackburn are ready to ‘give a go’ at trying to sign the centre-back.

However, it will cost them money, as Peuple Vert have a bit of background information on the Ligue 2 side’s stance when it comes to letting their defender leave.

They state the 24-year-old has been linked with an exit all summer, but he could still stay, because while Saint-Etienne wanted to get a transfer fee for him, that has been ‘without success’ to date.

This was despite ‘concrete interest’ from clubs abroad, but it’s worth pointing out this article was published before the news from Djellit about Blackburn giving it a go.

Therefore, Blackburn could still throw some money at Saint-Etienne, who, in turn, will have to go find a replacement after failing to do so when they let Saidou Sow go earlier in the transfer window.
