Brennan Johnson transfer twist emerges with ‘record offer’ to rival Tottenham bid
Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive amid claims that Brentford will rival Tottenham in their attempts to sign Brennan Johnson
Brentford have reportedly submitted “a club record £40million offer” to sign Brennan Johnson as they look to rival Tottenham for his signature.
The Bees were linked with the Nottingham Forest forward earlier this summer, having made at least two transfer bids to sign the 22-year-old with both offers rejected. Chelsea, West Ham and Aston Villa are also said to have registered their interest according to reports.
Recent reports have also claimed that Spurs are the favourites to sign him but that the North London side are “some way off” agreeing a fee. A potential deal could go down to the “very last hours” of the summer transfer window which slams shut on Friday at 11pm.

And now the Telegraph claim that Brentford are “edging closer to Forest’s valuation” of the player after submitting a £40m bid. It adds that Johnson is “a priority signing in Thomas Frank’s plans.”
Tottenham are also reportedly hopeful of completing a deal with chairman Daniel Levy said to be “in talks” to sign the Forest player before Friday’s deadline.
Johnson impressed in helping the Reds secure their top-flight status for another campaign. He scored eight Premier League goals last season.
