Cardiff City Win Race For Premier League Defender

Cardiff City have won the race to sign Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo, with a deal set to be confirmed later today according to journalist Fraser Fletcher.

Who is Jonathan Panzo?

The centre-back was a product of the Chelsea youth system before having spells with AS Monaco and Dijon in France. He returned to England in 2022 signing for Nottingham Forest, before being loaned out to Coventry six months later.

Jonathan Panzo impressed at Coventry last season and I’m not surprised to see him returning to the Championship this summer, although the fact Cardiff have won the race makes this a huge addition to them.

The defender had interest from Birmingham, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City and I’m very excited to see how he gets on in South Wales.
