Bulut pre-Swansea City | We have to manage our emotion | Cardiff

Cardiff City’s South Wales derby injury bulletin as Ramsey update given and star could return vs Swansea City

Erol Bulut has given a full fitness update ahead of the clash with Swansea City

Erol Bulut expects Aaron Ramsey to play in Cardiff City’s clash with arch rivals Swansea this Saturday after the playmaker gave fans a scare while on international duty with Wales.

Ramsey netted a penalty against Latvia on Monday, a goal which represented his 100th in senior football, but eyebrows were raised when he jogged off after the 49th minute.

Wales boss Rob Page tried to allay fears after the match, while Ramsey himself said it was only a precaution. And Bluebirds can breathe a small sigh of relief as it seems City’s star man will be fit and ready for derby day.

“He had stiffness with his adductor, he managed it well with the national team. He came off, he couldn’t continue. For now, he looks good,” said Bulut.

“Today, he was at training and tomorrow he will be at training also. And Saturday, he will be on the field.

“He changed in the 49th minute against Latvia. I knew about his injury, his stiffness on his adductor. He had it in the games before, when he played. We managed it so he could play.

“But he managed it well with the national team. He went out and now we have managed it – our physios managed it.

“He was on the field today, tomorrow I think he will be with us. Hopefully on the pitch Saturday, too.”

In another boost for Cardiff fans, Callum Robinson looks like he could be back in the fold as well. The winger’s season has not gone according to plan so far after he suffered a back injury while on the club’s pre-season trip to Portugal.

He has played just 49 minutes of football against two games this term, but the problem seems to have eased somewhat over the international break and it would be a big plus if a player of his quality was available for Bulut for this Saturday’s derby.

“Today, he trained, he was feeling well with his back,” Bulut said of Robinson. “I hope tomorrow he will be fine too and then for the game, we will see.”

Unfortunately, both Callum O’Dowda and Josh Bowler look set to miss the game.

“He will be out for a longer time. I think another two weeks,” Bulut said O’Dowda. “Bowler, it looks like he will not be with us.”

Cardiff host Swansea this Saturday, kick-off is at 7.45pm.
