Injury update for Chesterfield’s match against Wealdstone as the spires strive for their sixth straight victory
There are no new injuries that Chesterfield is concerned about for their match against Wealdstone on Saturday.
Prior to this weekend’s home matchup against the team in 13th place, the table-topping Spireites have won five straight games.
Tom Naylor is suspended following his two yellow cards and consequent dismissal against Halifax in midweek, but Michael Jacobs is back in the lineup following his dismissal from Ebbsfleet United.
Ryheem Sheckleford (hamstring) has done some light training but he is not expected to be back until at least another week or so.
Coach Danny Webb said when asked if the team was feeling some weariness following the thrilling victory over Halifax: “I am sure they wouldn’t confess it if they did because they want to keep their shirts. On Wednesday morning, I’m sure I would have had tired legs; on Thursday, maybe not so much; and today, definitely not.
“The boys are taken care of today with the way they are managed, their recovery days, and massages, and they are ready to go and fresh.
“We have players who can come in and take their shirt even if it is temporary for anyone who is feeling a little tight or achy,” the coach said.
Regarding injuries, he continued, “There are absolutely no new worries at this time. Naturally, it is disappointing that we won’t have Tom Naylor tomorrow, but it provides someone else a chance to step in and potentially aid us in maintaining that small gap at the top.
Against Wealdstone, Chesterfield manager Paul Cook will serve a touchline suspension.
