Chelsea stars react as Nottingham Forest sign Andrey Santos

Nottingham Forest completed the signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea on Friday. It’s thought that he was registered in time to play yesterday but the wonderkid wasn’t included in the matchday squad.

Following his arrival at Forest, the Reds newcomer received some congratulations on Instagram. Mykhailo Mudryk and Reece James were among the players to offer their support.

This one looks like a very interesting signing. The 19-year-old arrived at Chelsea from Vasco da Gama and he saw the remainder of last season out with the Brazilian outfit.

It was anticipated that the player would compete for a place in the Chelsea team this season. However, after Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo signed, it became apparent that regular action would be hard to come by.

Santos looks like a very useful addition to the Forest ranks. He’s a box-to-box midfielder and hopefully, he can start helping the Reds win some points to climb the Premier League.

Santos is tipped for a big future and now Forest will aid his development going forward. The Reds have been searching for a midfielder and they’ve not got one over the line.

Santos receives support after signing for Forest

Mudryk was a big-money signing for Chelsea. He cost the club £88 million and will now need to show something this season that suggests he’s remotely worth that much.

Shortly after Santos had signed for Forest, he took to Instagram to praise the player. He said: “Let’s go!”, whilst James was also active on social media and sent his message of support too.

The England defender has been given the Chelsea captaincy this season. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he has already picked up an injury but he’s praised Santos too.

James said: “Let’s go bro.” and he will no doubt watch the player closely during his time on the sidelines.

Forest might have got themselves a very good signing in Santos. The hope will be that he can quickly settle and quickly become a fan favourite at the City Ground.
