Club have ‘increased contacts’ to sign Leicester City star – Player ‘favouring’ exit, time running out

With less than 48 hours left in the transfer window in Turkey, which closes on Friday, clubs such as Fenerbahçe are stepping up a gear to bring late reinforcements, like Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi.

The latest on that particular situation comes from Gazete Vatan, who have an article dedicated to the Süper Lig side’s efforts to sign the Nigeria international.

It’s explained the Leicester player, who has started five out of seven games under Enzo Maresca this season, is now on Fenerbahçe’s radar, as they want to ‘make a definitive reinforcement’ of a new number six, meaning defensive midfielder, in their squad.

In fact, they have ‘increased their contacts’ to try and sign the 26-year-old from the King Power Stadium, and it’s added that Ndidi himself is ‘favouring’ the idea of a transfer away.

That being said, Leicester ‘want to obtain transfer income’ from a possible sale, knowing full well this could be their last chance to cash in since the midfielder’s current contract expires next summer.

We will have to wait and see for any further updates going forward, but it appears that following relegation to the Championship, Ndidi would prefer to play in the top-tier somewhere rather than fight for promotion back to the Premier League this season.
