Belief club will be delighted at player’s sale to Nottingham Forest – He’s there to catch attention of others
Boubakary Soumare will use Nottingham Forest to make himself ‘more valuable and visible’ to the top sides in the Premier League.
That’s according to analyst Wim Kieft, who believes PSV will be rubbing their hands with delight at the money they have received for the midfielder.
Sangare completed a move to Nottingham Forest on Friday, bringing an end to months of speculation about his future at PSV.
He had been linked with clubs all over Europe, including Nottingham Forest, who worked hard to get a deal done right up until deadline day of the summer transfer window and eventually got their man.
They’ve paid €35m to sign the midfielder, making him not only their most expensive signing ever, eclipsing the deal for Morgan Gibbs-White last season, but also PSV’s third highest sale behind Cody Gakpo and Hirving Lozano.
The Dutch club have become more than adept at selling their prized assets over the years, with the last year seeing them pick up big fees for Gakpo and Noni Madueke also.
And Kieft believes they’ll be delighted with the sum Nottingham Forest have paid for Sangare, who in turn will be hoping he can earn himself more admirers in England.
“The treasurer in Eindhoven must have had his hands wet for a while,” he wrote in his column for De Telegraaf, relayed by PSV Fans.
“In the end, he is still a bread-and-butter footballer and chose the salary and challenge of the Premier League. For Bakayoko, Burnley and Brentford were behind the net, although PSV was able to collect around forty million euros.
“The Belgian is at that level of clubs in the Premier League. At the same time, he is someone who can develop further in the Eredivisie and in the Champions League, which in the long term can make him more valuable and visible to the top.”
