CRYSTAL PALACE NOW INTERESTED IN £25M STRIKER, PEP GUARDIOLA THINKS HE’S ‘INCREDIBLE’

Crystal Palace are keen on Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho as they look to improve their attack.

That is according to the Daily Express.

The outlet states that Crystal Palace have concrete interest in Kelechi Iheanacho.

His team-mate Patson Daka is also said to be someone who Palace have looked at, but it is thought that the Nigerian is the forward who is at the top of the Eagles’ list.

Roy Hodgson has lost Wilfried Zaha, who scored a lot of goals for Palace, so it is no surprise that he is trying to bring in another attacker before the transfer window closes.

And with Leicester now playing in the Championship, it may be easy to lure Iheanacho away from the King Power Stadium.

Kelechi Iheanacho could be a good signing for Crystal Palace

Targeting Iheanacho makes a lot of sense. He has plenty of experience in the Premier League and has proven that he can score goals in the division.

In the 2020/21 season, the 26-year-old found the back of the net 12 times in 25 appearances, which is a good return

What he needs to do now is find some consistency. It is something that Iheanacho lacks, with the Nigeria international only managing to score four goals the following campaign.

Nevertheless, his inability to maintain his best form has not stopped Pep Guardiola from describing him as “incredible”.

It remains to be seen how much Iheanacho would cost, but Leicester paid £25m when they signed the No.9 from Manchester City back in 2017.

If Palace can get him for around that price or a bit lower, it certainly would not be the worst purchase this summer. They need a new source of goals and Hodgson will be hoping that the former City man or another forward can give them that.
