Daniel Farke comments indicate Leeds United could be set to unleash these two stars v Ipswich – View
Leeds United could be set to welcome back Luis Sinisterra and Willy Gnonto to the squad this weekend as they travel to Ipswich Town.
The Whites have had an incredibly turbulent month in August thus far with exits and player refusals dominating the landscape at Elland Road.
However, the preparation for a trip to Ipswich this weekend has seen the mood lifted immeasurably during the week.
First, Leeds landing striker Joel Piroe from Swansea City, along with the nearing agreement for attacking midfielder Nadiem Amiri, but now the squad is starting to look more padded with existing players returning.
Here, we look at two players who could be making an intirguing return to the lineup this weekend, boosting Farke’s options significantly…
Willy Gnonto
Firstly, we have to address that football is an incredibly fickle game, and while most Leeds fans will still hold some animosity towards Willy Gnonto (ourselves included), we would also be lying if we said we wouldn’t celebrate just as much if he fires in the winner for us at Portman Road.
Daniel Farke confirmed in his pre-match press conference that not only has the Italian been reintegrated into the main group this week after being left out in the cold, but also that Gnonto has made an apology to the manager.
While fans might not think that is enough, it’s enough for Farke and that should be the end of that in terms of from a footballing perspective.
If Gnonto is fully committed to the cause, we have to be using one of the most talented players in the league to our advantage.
Where he features in our lineup in the long run remains to be seen with new signings looming, but what an option to have.
Luis Sinisterra
Also returning to the Leeds squad this week is Luis Sinisterra, confirmed by Farke in his presser, and it’s another major boost.
Based on how Farke spoke about the Colombian, it didn’t seem like mutiny was the reason for him being shifted away from the main squad, but he’s back now.
If the two players are up to speed with the group, as they look to be in the right frame of mind, then there’s no reason for them to be missing from Saturday.
With the sheer lack of options at Farke’s disposal right now, it seems like one of these (or both) will start in Suffolk tomorrow, and it’s needed.
The danger that these two pose to the Tractor Boys is something we cannot go without.
