He’s still not ready yet’: David Moyes makes honest Jarrod Bowen admission
West Ham United manager David Moyes will be absolutely delighted with the form of Jarrod Bowen so far this season.
Jarrod Bowen has bagged five goals and two assists in just nine games for West Ham so far this term (Transfermarkt), and he is definitely one of the best two players David Moyes has at his disposal, alongside Lucas Paqueta of course.

It was only a couple of days ago when Moyes was absolutely raving about the former Hull City attacker, labelling him as an ‘outstanding’ player.
The Hammers have made a fabulous start to the 2023/24 campaign, both domestically and on the continent.
A key reason for our success has been Bowen’s form. He has even been used as an auxiliary centre-forward by Moyes. But is he ready to play in that position consistently?

The Hammers boss spoke to reporters about his pride at seeing the 26-year-old getting a call-up to the England squad for their upcoming clashes with Australia and Italy.
And when speaking about Bowen, Moyes responded when asked if he sees his future as a central striker, as quoted by the Mirror:
“He is still not ready yet [to be a No9], and probably there is the history here of Marko Arnautovic from a winger to a centre forward, and Michail Antonio, but it hasn’t been an easy market to find a centre forward. What he can do is score. Can Jarrod be a No.9? We are still sort of in the manufacturing stage to see if we think that can happen.”
I reckon that Bowen will end up as a centre-forward for West Ham. He’s capable of playing there in my opinion and Moyes would prefer to convert a winger into a striker rather than signing someone who may or may not succeed at the London Stadium.
Jarrod Bowen is an elite player and David Moyes will know full well just how far he can go in the game.
The fact that the 26-year-old has just signed a new seven-year deal with West Ham is absolutely huge news for us as a club.
We seem to have reached a stage now where we will be able to keep our best players, rather than sell them to the highest bidder.
The future is very bright for the Hammers and Bowen. Whether he will still be playing as a right winger or through the middle in a couple of year’s time remains to be seen though.
