Investment progress emerges as Alan Myers drops fresh Everton update

The deal for fresh investment into Everton is ongoing and progressing well, according to Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers.

The reliable source on all things Goodison Park stated on Monday (4 September) that things are heading in the right direction for the Toffees.

This comes after two overseas presented financial packages to Farhad Moshiri to invest in the club.

Myers wrote on Twitter, “My understanding of the situation is that it’s ongoing and progressing well.”

MSP Sports Capital’s deal took far too long to progress and now that one is understood to be off the cards.

The Toffees are already in a cash crunch, close to breaching FFP regulations and also have a new stadium coming up.

It’s not an ideal place to be in and any sort of investment will be welcomed, especially by the fans as it would reduce Farhad Moshiri’s control.

New investors are certainly going to demand voting rights and as the club moves into a new stadium, Moshiri cannot be the one making all the big decisions.

It remains to be seen how advanced this progress is and whether a conclusion will take a few weeks or a few months.
