EFL confirm 25-man Championship squads as Coventry City come up short
Coventry City news from CoventryLive as the Sky Blues’ squad for the new season has been confirmed
Coventry City’s squad for the 2023-24 Championship season has been confirmed by the EFL.
The Sky Blues, along with every other second tier outfit, were required to name a maximum of 25 players for their squad after the summer transfer window closed, and that group has now been confirmed by the league.
Players who were born before 2002 have to be registered, with loanees also requiring registration regardless of their age. That left City with 23 senior players who would require registration, meaning Mark Robins’ squad is two short of the normal quota required to be registered, although they are not the only ones to have fewer than the allowed quota.
Coventry lost 14 senior players over the summer – seven being released at the end of their contracts, five loans returning to their parent clubs and two sold – and gained 11 new signings.
