Eighth signing of the summer gets over the line for Bournemouth

The transfer window in England slammed shut last night, but there was still time to see one incoming and two outgoings at AFC Bournemouth.

Following seven signings already this summer in the form of Hamed Traorè from Serie A side Sassuolo, Justin Kluivert from Roma, Romain Faivre from Olympique Lyonnais, Andrei Ionuț Radu on loan from Inter Milan, Milos Kerkez from AZ Alkmaar, Alex Scott from Bristol City, Max Aarons from Norwich City and Tyler Adams from Leeds United, the Cherries thought they’d nip back to Elland Road and pick up another one from the recently relegated outfit.

The deal reportedly went down to the wire, as they, at this time of the year say and the deal was officially announced after the deadline ended.

Colombia international Luis Sinisterra joins on a season-long loan deal “with a potential option to purchase” according to afcb.co.uk.

The 24-year-old comes with a wealth of experience having previously played for four years at Feyenoord (during the same period that new AFC Bournemouth team-mate Marcos Senesi played there) and reached the UEFA Europa League Final in 2022.

A little over a year ago he joined Leeds United for around £21 million.

Having made his debut for Colombia in 2019, Sinisterra has made 7 appearances for his country adding to the 5 appearances he made the countries Under-21’s. He’s scored 3 goals for Colombia and 2 for Colombia Under-21.

Speaking to the official website AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said…

“We’re delighted to bring Luis to the club and I have no doubt that he’ll be a superb addition to our squad.

“He’s a player that has already experienced Premier League football and has featured at the top level in Europe too, so we’re really looking forward to having him with us.”

The two outgoings from Dean Court came in the form of loan deals. Jaidon Anthony joined Leeds United for the season to get the deal for Sinisterra over the line, whilst Jamal Lowe is also heading for the Championship, returning to Swansea City where the Cherries had initially bought him from two years ago. The 29-year-old is out-of-contract on the south coast in the summer.
