Everton transfer news as two new clubs join race for Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto
Everton have been joined by two new clubs in the pursuit of Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto this summer, according to 90Min.
The English media outlet reported on its website on Friday (11 August) that Napoli and Juventus both want to bring in the Italy international, 19.
It’s understood £30million is what it will take for the Toffees to sign him but they’re looking to bring down the price further.
Sign him
Gnonto appears to be unsettled at Leeds and is causing all sorts of tantrums at Elland Road.
These are clear indicators of a player being unhappy and looking to force a move away from the club.
He’s stopped short of submitting a transfer request but that also cannot be ruled out with him asking to be left out from matchday squads.
At his current valuation, he is too expensive for the Toffees but if they manage to negotiate it further, then it could work for them.
Gnonto showed glimpses of what a talented attacker he is in the Premier League last season and there’s nothing to suggest he won’t do the same at Everton.
He can also play as a striker and Youssef Chermiti could do with playing as a backup to the Italian as he adapts to the English top flight.
In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees now have to pay £21.4m to land a Brazilian player ahead of next season.
