Sean Dyche can go full Sean Dyche at Everton and it could keep them in the Premier League

Everton hijack rival Prem swoop for Tottenham outcast, as Euro giants end all interest

Everton are reportedly mobilising to end all Luton Town hopes of signing Japhet Tanaganga, while the Tottenham defender is no longer a target for a surprise European giant.

Tanganga has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham in recent seasons. Last term, he made just four Premier League appearances and only managed seven outings across all competitions.

The centre-back, who can also play as a right-back if needed, is not in the plans of new manager Ange Postecoglou. He looks set to operate with a centre-back pairing of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, while also selecting either Pedro Porro or Emerson Royal at right-back.

Postecoglou’s decision has forced Tanganga to consider potential exit routes out of North London. On Friday, the Daily Express revealed that Tottenham have received loan proposals for Tanganga from Luton and Inter.

The 24-year-old was described as ‘weighing up’ the offers as he looks to get his career back on track.

Italian source Inter Live have now provided their information on Tanganga’s future. They claim Inter have dropped their interest in the Spurs outcast as they are closing in on an alternative defensive capture.

Simone Inzaghi’s side are getting close to landing French star Benjamin Pavard from Bayern. Manchester United had been hoping to sign Pavard themselves, but he has rejected their offer in order to sign for Inter.

Inter dropping out of the mix for Tanganga has briefly put Luton ‘in pole position’ to complete a deal of their own, the report states. Although, it does not look like that will be the case for long.

Inter Live add that Everton have joined the chase for the former England U21 international by launching a ‘move’ of their own. At the time of writing, it is unclear whether Everton’s approach is for a loan or permanent transfer.

It is likely Tanganga will choose an Everton move, should Spurs given him the opportunity to decide on the best next step for his career.

While Everton have had a worrying start to the new season, having lost league games to Aston Villa and Fulham, they still stand a better chance of staying up than Luton.

Meanwhile, Everton have reportedly accepted a bid from Saudi Arabia for one of their attackers, despite their pursuit of Wilfried Gnonto hitting a major stumbling block.
