Both parties are declining to comment at this stage, but Moshiri is expected to leave the club with just a fraction of the money he invested after fans grew restless at his ownership after countless poor decisions and relegation battles in recent years.

“Everton are in advanced negotiations with 777 Partners LLC over a dramatic full sale of the club to the American private investment firm,” they wrote.

“Sources close to talks told Telegraph Sport that the deal on offer would bring an end to Farhad Moshiri’s era as majority shareholder.

“Talks with 777 stretch back months but have intensified in recent weeks after an alternative minority investment deal with MSP Capital collapsed.

“Moshiri is understood to be facing the prospect of leaving the club with a fraction of the money he invested. Insiders underlined there are still final hurdles to be cleared.”

Finally

There’s no doubt that Moshiri leaving can only be a good thing, but at this point there are doubts about whether 777 will actually be any better.

Everton

There have been some shocking claims made about them in recent times and while they own several other clubs across the world, their ownership model has hardly been something to shout home about.

The important thing for Everton fans i getting Moshiri and the rest of the board out of the club to start building towards a more stable and better future, but this could be a case of coming out of the frying pan and into the fire.

There have been doubts about whether or not 777 have the money to do the deal, but if it goes ahead the hope would be that has all been ironed out.

Regardless we should know more by the end of the week with an announcement expected, and hopefully we can start to plan for a better future rather than constantly looking over our shoulders and scrounging for cash.

In other Everton news, the club have been made to look stupid after what happened this weekend.
