Everton in advanced talks over Demarai Gray sale, deal ‘all done’ for him to quit Goodison Park – Fabrizio Romano

Demarai Gray expects to sign a four-year contract at Al-Ettifaq as he edges closer to leaving Everton on a permanent basis, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday night (5 September), Romano reported that the Blues are in advanced talks over selling the 27-year-old winger.

It is understood that as far as Gray is concerned, the deal is “all done” but Everton and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq remain in talks and are getting closer to an agreement.

Good riddance

Everton

Everton haven’t really had any choice in the matter here with Gray speaking out about Sean Dyche on social media for not being allowed to leave Goodison Park.

Sure, the ex-Leicester winger didn’t play as much as he’d have hoped for Dyche in the second half of last season and when he did play, he was more often than not in an unnatural centre-forward role.

But to leave in the manner he’s leaving, for a team managed by Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia is disgusting.

Gray’s been nothing special for the Blues so to act the way he has done to be a part of the biggest sport-washing project the world has seen is embarrassing.

He’ll earn a lot of money, there’s no doubt about that.

But he can now add Everton to the list of clubs where he’ll be completely forgotten at.

An absolutely bang-average career becoming an absolute nothing one.

Good luck in the Middle East, Demarai. We’re sure you won’t last too long there.
