Everton transfer news as agreement close for Udinese striker Beto
Everton are now very close to reaching an agreement to secure the services of Udinese striker Beto this summer, according to Marco Conterio.
The Tuttomercato Web journalist reported on Friday (25 January) that the Toffees are about to finalise the deal for the 25-year-old Portuguese striker.
Sean Dyche was looking to add to his attacking ranks despite signing Youssef Chermiti and appears to be getting his man.
Via Twitter, Conterio wrote, “Here we are for Beto Betuncal from #Udinese to Everton.
“The companies are finding themselves in the middle of the road. At 30million (£25.7million) they are about to finalize the deal.”
The Toffees have been linked with the towering Udinese striker since January so it’s evident that Dyche has wanted him for a while.
There even were attempts to sign him ahead of the deadline, but that did not materialise and he stayed put in Italy.
Now, it seems like there is an agreement on the cards for the striker and it will be a good move for Everton to get a top marksman.
He will be an upgrade on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and has a better fitness record than the Englishman as well – which is a priority.
Hopefully, nothing delays this deal and once an agreement is struck, things can progress in no time and he’s there ahead of deadline day.
Leaving it that late leaves the deal susceptible to a hijack and that’s the last thing they want so late in the window.
In other Everton news, a first-team player linked with a Premier League rival club may now force his Goodison Park exit unless Sean Dyche axes a senior man.
